On December 29, 2022, Trustees of the Conservancy celebrated the closing of the Howard Milton Galbraith conservation easement with Dan Galbraith at the Alcove.
The Protected Property on Green Valley Road boasts 135 acres of prime and locally important soils and more than 2,600 feet of Granny Creek, a major tributary of the West Branch of the Kokosing State Scenic River. This conservation easement is the Conservancy's seventh collaboration with Dan Galbraith, who chose to entwine the memory of his father with the worthy cause of protecting farm ground in Knox County by naming the easement after him. Over the last decade, Mr. Galbraith has protected more than 800 acres of rural lands in Knox County. The Board of Trustees remains grateful to Mr. Galbraith for his dedication to land preservation and appreciates our long-standing relationship with him.
