Is there a sight more enchanting in the warmer Ohio months than a bluebird? Bluebirds have the power, just by dint of their existence, to stop us in our tracks and keep us there until they glide out of view.
From the lovely pale turquoise of the eggs to the tiny, tiny pink babies with just the smallest bit of fluff, to the bright-eyed juveniles who most definitely aren't blue, having an inside view into their lives is an amazing treat. These photos, taken by Owl Creek Trustee Jeff Wells from July 23, to August 23, 2020, show the rapid, beautiful progression of bluebird family life. The babies hatched on August 6 and 7, after 15 days of incubation. By August 23, all babies had flown away.
