This November, every Tuesday, we’ll be showcasing a Grantor and their story of why they chose to partner with Owl Creek Conservancy to protect their land.
Here’s the 2nd installment of our ‘Giving Tuesday Grantor Series’ with Janet Kohr showcasing her easements, known as Kohr I & Kohr 2.
Janet Kohr wanted to conserve her land and honor the memory of her late husband, Robert Duncan McKenzie, at the same time. Through her easement with Owl Creek Conservancy, she has ensured that the farm they cherished, known as Homewood Farm, remains preserved. Her property encompasses nearly 170 acres, showcasing many of the key features of the Knox County landscape, including agricultural buildings, fields, woodlands, ponds, and streams. Over the years, her commitment to conserving the land has intensified, bordering on an obsession, as she recognizes that what disappears in our time is lost forever to future generations stating “It is our responsibility to care for the next generation”.
Do you enjoy the beauty of gently rolling hills dotted with wildflowers? If so, please consider donating today to help us keep the rural charm of Knox County free from inappropriate development.
From everyone at Owl Creek Conservancy ~ Thank you for your support this giving season.
