This November, every Tuesday, we’ll be showcasing a Grantor and their story of why they chose to partner with Owl Creek Conservancy to protect their land.
We’re excited to kick off our ‘Giving Tuesday Grantor Series’ with Dan Galbraith showcasing his easements, known as Galbraith 1 ~ 6, and Howard Milton Galbraith.
Nearly ten years prior to finalizing his first easement, Dan was approached by Owl Creek Conservancy. His easement preserves 1.3 miles of the Kokosing River, preventing development in the region. While he recognizes the growing demand for housing and electricity, Dan takes great pride in protecting the scenic vistas along SR 13 for future generations. He believes that Grantors have a duty to promote the benefits of land conservation and share the positive experiences he’s had with OCC. An ardent advocate for the cause, he appreciates the ongoing property monitoring that comes with working alongside OCC. After an incident involving an ATV trespassing on his easement, he reached out to OCC and praised their prompt response in handling the violation, describing their oversight as “a priceless commodity.”
If you love taking a scenic drive through the breathtaking landscapes of Knox County, please consider making a donation today. Every contribution helps us protect land from inappropriate development.
